Armed Robbery at Newark 7-11 Under Investigation

NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a 7-11 store located at 699 E. Chestnut Hill Road on Friday night. At 9:43 p.m., troopers responded to reports of an armed robbery and found that an unknown male had approached an employee, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money after the employee complied. Despite a search, police were unable to locate the suspect, who was wearing dark-colored clothing. The victim was not harmed.

The Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is now leading the inquiry. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective B. Harris at 302-365-8410. Tips can also be submitted via a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
