‘See Something, Say Something’ Leads to Arrest of Construction Site Thieves

FLAGLER COUNTY, FL – Robert Stout, Jr. and Robert Stout, Sr. were arrested following a citizen’s alert about suspicious activity at a construction site.

On November 12, 2023, around 10:30 pm, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two individuals, later identified as the Stouts, carrying items from an under-construction residence. The informant provided real-time updates to dispatchers as deputies approached the scene.

Evidence linked the duo to the theft of Ready Mix Wallboard Joint Compound. Stout, Sr. faces charges including Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling, Trespassing, and Grand Theft. Stout, Jr., previously arrested for Criminal Mischief and Domestic Battery, was charged with Trespassing and Grand Theft.

Sheriff Rick Staly praised the community’s vigilance and the effectiveness of the ‘See Something, Say Something’ approach. He also urged construction site owners to secure materials and tools to deter theft. The swift coordination between the citizen, dispatchers, and law enforcement was crucial in apprehending the suspects.
