Virginia Beach Blue Knights Host Youth Chess Tournament Against New Bern Noble Knights

Virginia Beach, VA – The Virginia Beach Police Department, led by Chief Neudigate, along with the Youth Services Unit and the Virginia Beach Blue Knights Chess Club, hosted a youth chess tournament against the City of New Bern, NC Police Department’s Noble Knights Chess Club on February 10, 2024, at the Law Enforcement Training Academy.

The event saw kids and teens engage in intense chess matches and various challenging puzzles. After a closely contested competition, the Virginia Beach Blue Knights emerged victorious, claiming the first-place trophy and celebrating their win amidst fun and commendable sportsmanship from all participants.

Parents and children alike enjoyed the tournament, eagerly anticipating the next match where the Virginia Beach team hopes to defend their title. The event was made possible with the support of Tina Schweiss and the Hampton Roads Chess Association, whose planning efforts were crucial to its success.
