DOVER, DELAWARE — The Dover Police Department has announced the issuance of warrants for 25-year-old Michael Larbi and a 17-year-old male, both residents of Dover, following an attempted robbery at a local Cricket Wireless store. The incident occurred on February 29th, 2024, at approximately 10:47 a.m., at the store located on 1225 North DuPont Highway.

Upon receiving a hold-up alarm from the store, Dover Police officers were dispatched to the scene but were unable to locate the suspects upon arrival. The investigation revealed that two individuals, described as black males, entered the store, one of whom was armed with a Taser. They demanded that an employee hand over property, but ultimately fled empty-handed in a vehicle.

The case took a turn when, later that same day, the Smyrna Police Department responded to a suspected robbery at a T-Mobile store within their jurisdiction. The suspects matched the descriptions of those involved in the earlier Cricket Wireless incident. With the aid of T-Mobile Security, the suspects were traced to a service area in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, where they were apprehended by the New Jersey State Police.

Both Larbi and the 17-year-old have been identified and taken into custody, bringing a swift resolution to a potentially dangerous situation.
