by Breaking Local News Report

NEWARK, DE — A 16-year-old Newark student has been arrested and charged with felony offenses following a confrontation involving a taser at Glasgow High School.

The incident, which occurred last week, came to the attention of the Delaware State Police School Resource Officer assigned to the high school on March 26, 2024. The altercation, initially verbal between the 16-year-old and two 15-year-old students on March 25, escalated when the older student brandished a taser.

During the conflict, the 16-year-old reportedly used the taser on both younger students, leading to intervention by school staff and the seizure of the weapon by the constable. Following an investigation, the teenager voluntarily surrendered to authorities on March 28 at Troop 2, facing serious legal charges. Investigations are ongoing, with potential charges pending for the two 15-year-olds involved.
