Somerville, Mass – Somerville Man Arrested for Allegedly Groping Women During Unlicensed Chiropractic Sessions

A 60-year-old Somerville man, Jose Mendez, faces charges of groping two women during chiropractic adjustments in sessions that took place at his unlicensed clinic, according to authorities. He was charged with two counts of indecent exposure, battery, and operating the unlicensed chiropractic clinic from his Cross Street residence, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office confirmed. Mendez, who is not a licensed chiropractor, was apprehended and is now being held on a bail of $5,500. Conditions of his release include no contact with the alleged victims.

Investigations revealed that Mendez allegedly touched the women inappropriately during treatment, with one instance involving him unzipping his pants and exposing himself to a victim. The suspect reportedly obtained business through referrals and word of mouth, as reported by the police. The length of time during which Mendez conducted the illicit practice remained unspecified by law enforcement officials.

Authorities urge anyone with details regarding Mendez or his unauthorized chiropractic establishment to come forward and contact Somerville Police at 617-625-1600 x7278. Mendez is scheduled to appear in court on May 14th.
