QUEENS, NY—A shooting incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 4:15 PM at a basketball court located behind 441 Beach 51 Street, where two unidentified individuals brandished firearms and opened fire. During the event, a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were injured.
The female victim sustained gunshot wounds to her left leg and right arm, while the male victim was shot in the right leg. Both were present on the basketball court at the time of the shooting and were subsequently transported to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in stable condition.
Following the shooting, the assailants fled the scene, one on a CitiBike and the other on a metal kick scooter.
The police are actively searching for the two individuals and request that anyone with information related to the incident come forward to assist with the investigation.
