South Carolina Man Wins $2 Million, Plans Early Retirement

COLUMBIA, SC—An Upstate South Carolina man is planning an early retirement after winning $2 million from the South Carolina Education Lottery. The fortunate event unfolded when he stopped at an Exxon station on Holly Springs Rd. in Lyman, prompted by a “lucky feeling” to purchase a $20 lottery ticket.

Upon realizing his win, the first and only person he informed was his wife. “I told her, ‘You won’t believe what happened,'” he shared. Despite the life-changing sum, the winner is determined to maintain his current lifestyle. “I’m not going to let it change me,” he affirmed. “But I’m ready to retire.”

The retailer, Hare Pritam 2018 Inc. located in Lyman, received a $20,000 commission for selling the winning ticket. The winner’s focus now shifts towards retirement planning, buoyed by his newfound financial security.
