Sketch of Fugitive Central Park Attacker Released by New York City Police Department

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted rape that occurred in Central Park. The incident took place on Monday, June 24, 2024, at around 1:36 PM near 104th Street and West Drive.

Responding to a 911 call, NYPD officers learned that a 21-year-old female was the target of an attempted sexual assault by an unidentified individual who subsequently fled the scene. The suspect’s current whereabouts are unknown, and no arrests have been made.

The NYPD’s investigation into the matter is active and ongoing. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to come forward to assist in the investigation. Witnesses or individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline or their local precinct to help bring the perpetrator to justice.
