Barricaded Individual in Galloway Township Surrenders Peacefully

GALLOWAY, NJ—The Galloway Township Police Department responded to a welfare check at approximately 12:00 PM on Sunday in the 700 block of Cooper Ferry Court. Upon their arrival, police discovered that the individual involved was armed and unwilling to leave the residence.

After a standoff lasting about six hours, the individual voluntarily exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. They were subsequently transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center for a medical evaluation.

Authorities have extended their gratitude to the Atlantic County SWAT team and Galloway Township EMS for their roles in resolving the situation. The police also thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the lengthy incident.
