Police Seek Suspect in Bronx Assault on NYC MTA Bus Driver

BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on an MTA bus driver in the Bronx on Tuesday morning.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., a 34-year-old female bus driver was parked at East 226th Street and White Plains Road when an unidentified male approached the vehicle. The suspect entered the bus, grabbed the driver, and repeatedly struck her head against the bus partition, police said.

After the assault, the individual fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on East 226th Street.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was treated and is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, standing approximately six feet tall.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the NYPD as the investigation continues.
