Glen Burnie pool player wins $30,008 Keno prize

by Breaking Local News Report

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — An Anne Arundel County man struck it big last weekend, winning $30,008 on a Keno 8-spot ticket while playing pool at JJ’s Tavern in Glen Burnie. The grandfather and retired manufacturer was casually playing Keno alongside a game of pool when luck came his way.

The winner placed an 8-spot bet for five drawings, choosing the numbers 9, 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, and 79. He added the Super Bonus multiplier, which boosted his winnings significantly. While he continued his pool game, the Keno drawings played on screen. Later, a waitress ran his ticket and informed him of his big win.

“I just looked at her and said, ‘Nah,’” the winner recalled, still in disbelief about the $30,008 prize. His skepticism quickly faded after confirming the amount. The lucky winner plans to invest part of his windfall in the stock market.

The tavern where the ticket was purchased, located at 1018 1st Street, will receive a $300 bonus for selling a winning ticket worth $10,000 or more.
