Philadelphia police seek suspects in New Year’s Day assault

PHILADELPHIA — Police are searching for several suspects involved in an assault that injured a 25-year-old man during the early hours of New Year’s Day in Center City, authorities said.

The incident occurred on January 1, 2025, at approximately 2:28 a.m., on the 100 block of North 12th Street. According to police, the victim became involved in an argument with several unknown individuals, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspects allegedly punched the victim and tackled him to the ground. Medics transported the man to Jefferson Hospital, where he was treated for cuts to his face and a sprained right ankle, police said.

The Central Detective Division has released still photos of the suspects from surveillance footage and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
