Armed suspect escapes after shooting on 3rd Place

WASHINGTON — A shooting on 3rd Place SE sparked an active investigation Tuesday, as police searched for a suspect seen fleeing the area wearing all black.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of 3rd Place SE. Authorities issued a lookout for a Black male with a slim build, last seen wearing black clothing. No information has been released about the victim or motive behind the shooting.

The event was logged under police case number I20250243348. Residents in the area were urged not to approach the suspect and instead contact authorities with any tips.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in connection to the case.

Investigation continues in Southeast shooting
