Gunfire erupts on Morris Avenue in early morning shooting, one arrested

BRONX, N.Y. — Two individuals opened fire early Monday morning in front of a Morris Avenue residence before fleeing the scene on foot, according to police.

The incident took place around 3:15 a.m. in front of 1434 Morris Avenue, where the suspects displayed and discharged firearms multiple times. Despite the volley of gunfire, no injuries were reported.

Following the shooting, both individuals fled northbound on Morris Avenue. Officers quickly responded to the scene and were able to apprehend one of the individuals involved. The second suspect remains at large.

Authorities have not released the name of the individual arrested or the charges they may face. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.

No firearms were recovered at the scene at the time of the report, and it remains unclear if the area was targeted or if the shots were fired indiscriminately.

The NYPD is reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with residents in the area to gather more information on the incident. Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive.

“The individuals fled the location on foot, traveling northbound on Morris Avenue,” police said in the report.

Officials are asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to locate the second suspect involved in the shooting.

One person was arrested after gunfire broke out in the Bronx early Monday, but the second suspect remains at large.
