COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A Maryland State Trooper was struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning while investigating a crash on the Capital Beltway, according to state police.

The trooper, assigned to the College Park Barrack, was on the scene of an earlier crash when the incident occurred. Authorities have not released the exact location or time of the collision.

He was transported by ambulance to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he received treatment and was later released.

Maryland State Police have not disclosed the identity of the trooper or whether charges are expected in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details were immediately available.
