Dodger the puppy swiped from store in broad daylight
Readington Township, NJ – A 9-week-old Golden Retriever puppy named Dodger is safely back with his rightful owner after being stolen from a local business earlier this week and tracked across state lines.
On Monday, January 26, a suspect entered a Readington Township business and asked to see the young puppy. Moments later, the individual grabbed Dodger and fled the store, sprinted to a waiting vehicle, and drove off at high speed.
Police launched an investigation and quickly identified the suspect. Working with out-of-state authorities, detectives were able to locate Dodger in Pennsylvania. On Friday, January 30, Detective Medvetz and Officer Cordova traveled to retrieve the puppy and successfully reunited him with his owner.
Criminal charges are currently pending as the investigation continues.
