Lucky Bowie ticket hits $200K as Maryland lottery payouts surge

Maryland lottery frenzy sees $200K Bowie win top week of big payouts

Bowie, MD – A single scratch-off ticket turned into a $200,000 payout in Prince George’s County, leading a week of lottery wins across Maryland that delivered more than $31.1 million in prizes and produced dozens of high-value tickets statewide.

The top prize came from a $5,000,000 LUXE scratch-off ticket sold at Crain Convenience and Tobacco on Crain Highway in Bowie, according to the Maryland Lottery’s weekly report released Monday.

Two additional six-figure wins followed, including a $100,000 scratch-off ticket sold at Weis Market in Accokeek and a $100,000 FAST PLAY Big Win ticket sold May 1 at a Sheetz location in Cumberland. The FAST PLAY prize remained unclaimed as of Monday.

A $50,000 Powerball ticket sold at Extra Fuel on Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro also remains unclaimed, adding to the list of notable prizes from the week.

Pick 5 drawings produced six separate $25,000 winners, with tickets sold across Baltimore, Chesapeake Beach, Clements, Laurel, Odenton and Oxon Hill. Several of those prizes have already been claimed, while at least one remains outstanding.

Additional scratch-off prizes included a $77,777 winning ticket sold in Clements and a $50,000 prize from a JURASSIC PARK-themed ticket sold in Hyattsville. Two $20,000 prizes were also recorded from $1,000,000 Crossword tickets sold in Baltimore and Waldorf.

The Maryland Lottery reported 35 tickets valued at $10,000 or more during the April 27 through May 3 period, reflecting activity across scratch-offs, draw games, and FAST PLAY games.

Players holding winning tickets have a limited window to claim prizes. Draw game and FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after the drawing or purchase date, while scratch-off claim deadlines vary and are listed on the Maryland Lottery website.

Prizes exceeding $25,000 must be redeemed at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore by appointment. Smaller prizes can be claimed at casinos, authorized retailers, or expanded cashing locations depending on the amount.
