CHESAPEAKE, VA – Police are searching for a suspect who stole several high-end gaming headsets from an electronics store on Eden Way North and threatened an employee before fleeing the scene Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Chesapeake Police Department, the theft occurred on February 3 when the suspect entered the store in the 1300 block of Eden Way North, filled a garbage bag with gaming headsets worth approximately $1,700, and attempted to leave without paying.

When confronted by an employee, the suspect allegedly issued a verbal threat before running eastbound toward Greenbrier Mall. Investigators say the man later discarded some of his clothing and the stolen merchandise near a retention pond close to the old Salvation Army building.

Officers recovered the abandoned items and are working to identify the suspect from surveillance footage. Police have released an image of the man and are urging the public to come forward with any information about his identity or whereabouts.
