Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department has apprehended a 16-year-old male from Northeast, D.C., linking him to a series of carjackings and other violent crimes across the city. The arrest, conducted by the Seventh District on March 16, was made after the teenager was found in possession of a stolen key fob from a recent armed carjacking.
The initial carjacking occurred in the early hours of March 15 in the 1400 block of V Street, Northwest. The young suspect has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Armed Carjacking. Further investigation connected him to several other offenses, including an unarmed carjacking on March 14 in Southeast, a robbery involving force and violence on March 12 in Northeast, and two additional unarmed carjackings on March 12 and March 7, also in Southeast.
These incidents are part of an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division. The police are urging anyone with information about these or related crimes to come forward. The D.C. Metro Police Department offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes in the area.
