Toms River, NJ – Holiday spirit filled downtown Toms River as residents gathered for the township’s annual Christmas tree lighting, marking the official start of the community’s festive season.
Mayor Daniel Rodrick joined township officials, local businesses, and residents for the celebration, thanking the community for turning out to make the event another success.
“Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a great yearly tradition,” Mayor Rodrick said, recognizing the Toms River Township Council, the Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District, and Shawn Michaels of WOBM for their participation.
Community gathers for lights, music, and cheer
The evening featured live entertainment, family activities, and the lighting of the township’s towering downtown Christmas tree. Crowds lined the streets to enjoy performances, hot cocoa, and the arrival of Santa Claus, as Main Street transformed into a holiday showcase.
The event has long served as a highlight of the town’s holiday calendar, drawing residents from across Ocean County to celebrate together.
