Alexandria police investigating attempted abduction at Tarleton Park

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Police in Alexandria are investigating an attempted abduction that occurred at Tarleton Park near South Gordon Street and Wheeler Avenue. Authorities report that a woman was approached by a man who attempted to pull her into a wooded area, but she managed to escape unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, wearing a blue sweatshirt and camouflage shorts. Following the report, police established a perimeter around the park, and K-9 units are currently on the scene. A search helicopter has also been deployed to assist in locating the suspect.

Alexandria Police have asked residents in the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the search continues. No further details have been released at this time.
