67-year-old woman killed in Liberty Road pedestrian crash in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – A 67-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Liberty Road on Wednesday evening, according to police.

Baltimore County Police said officers responded around 6:20 p.m. on February 14 to the intersection of Liberty Road and Forest Hill Road, where they found the victim, identified as Loretta Pretlow, suffering from critical injuries. She was taken to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest and later pronounced deceased.

Investigators said Pretlow was attempting to cross Liberty Road when she was hit by a westbound 2004 Acura RDX. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Four passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Investigation ongoing

Police said there are no immediate signs of impairment or criminal conduct, but detectives with the department’s Crash Team continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
