Café in Manhattan sells winning Powerball ticket worth $150K

Powerball ticket worth $150,000 sold at Manhattan café just blocks from Washington Square

MANHATTAN, NY – A lucky Powerball player walked away with $150,000 after purchasing a Powerplay ticket at a popular Manhattan café ahead of the December 10 drawing, New York Lottery officials confirmed.

The winning ticket was bought at Players Café, located at 241 Bleecker Street in the heart of Greenwich Village, and matched four of the five white balls plus the red Power Ball. Because the player added the Powerplay option, their third-prize winnings were multiplied from $50,000 to $150,000.

The winning numbers drawn were part of the regularly scheduled Powerball event that takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night. Powerball players who opt into the Powerplay feature for an additional cost are eligible to see their non-jackpot prizes multiplied by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or even 10x, depending on the multiplier drawn.

While the ticket wasn’t the jackpot winner, the third-prize payout is a substantial boost for the Manhattan player. The Powerball jackpot has continued to surge in recent weeks, with no grand prize winner in the latest drawing.
