NEW YORK, N.Y. — Police are searching for five suspects accused of surrounding, assaulting and robbing two men in Manhattan’s East Village early Sunday morning.
The robbery occurred at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, June 21, in front of 105 Avenue A, within the confines of the NYPD’s 9th Precinct.
According to police, two 26-year-old men were walking in the area when they were approached and surrounded by five unidentified individuals.

Investigators said the suspects punched and kicked the victims before forcibly taking two cellphones and a pair of sneakers.
The group then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Police have not released descriptions of the suspects or provided information on the victims’ injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
