WOODBRIDGE, VA — On Thursday at 2:27 PM, police were called to a home on Castlebridge Ln. due to an assault report. A 20-year-old woman witnessed an acquaintance, later identified as Prince Jakim Isaiah Maldonado, trespassing in her backyard.
As she tried to enter her home, Maldonado followed and forcefully entered, assaulting her and brandishing a firearm. He prevented her from calling emergency services by breaking her phone, although another family member was able to alert the police. Maldonado fled before officers arrived but was arrested on May 20.
The victim sustained minor injuries. It was later discovered that Maldonado had taken the victim’s vehicle without permission, which was subsequently recovered and returned. Maldonado, 24, from Dumfries, faces multiple charges including strangulation, armed burglary, abduction, and illegal possession of a firearm, among others.
He remains in custody with a pending court date.
He was captured by the U.S. Marshals.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A 23-year-old Alexandria man is facing multiple charges in connection with a series of April burglaries targeting businesses in the Hybla Valley area of Fairfax County.
Police say the break-ins shared a similar pattern — the suspect used a rock to smash his way inside before stealing cash. One of the incidents occurred around 2:15 a.m. on April 17 at La Taza Panaderia in the 7800 block of Richmond Highway. Detectives linked the case to other April burglaries with the same method of entry.
The suspect, identified as Eliasar Flores, was already in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges when he was served warrants for four counts of burglary, five counts of destruction of property, and three counts of petit larceny. He remains held without bond.
Court records show Flores was also arrested in 2022 in connection with two restaurant burglaries committed within five days of each other.

- Virginia psychotherapist to pay over $1.2M after billing Medicaid and Medicare for services never rendered
RICHMOND, VA – A 72-year-old licensed clinical social worker from Mechanicsville has been ordered to pay more than $1.2 million after pleading guilty to healthcare fraud and settling related civil claims involving years of false billing to Medicare and Medicaid.
Daniel Jacobsen was sentenced in March to three months in federal prison for submitting at least $335,824 in fraudulent claims for psychotherapy services between 2017 and 2022. Prosecutors said Jacobsen regularly billed for sessions that never occurred — including claims showing more than 16 hours of therapy in a single day — and used inflated billing codes for services that were either not performed or were of lesser complexity.
To support the fraudulent claims, Jacobsen created false psychotherapy progress notes to make it appear patients had received services when they had not.
He pleaded guilty to criminal healthcare fraud on October 17 and has already paid $316,338 in restitution. He was also ordered to forfeit $335,821 and pay a $100,000 fine. Separately, he has now agreed to settle civil healthcare fraud allegations for an additional $449,015, bringing the total amount owed to $1,201,175.
The joint investigation involved the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, the FBI, and the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Virginia Attorney General’s Office.
