Suspect Arrested in Northeast D.C. Robbery

Washington, D.C. — A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that took place in Northeast D.C.

On Monday, June 24, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a victim was driving through an intersection in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast, when a suspect on a scooter collided with the side of the vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle to check on the suspect. The suspect then demanded money, claiming the victim was at fault for the collision. When the victim refused, the suspect stole the victim’s purse and fled on foot.

An MPD officer witnessed the incident and quickly apprehended the suspect. A firearm was recovered from the suspect.

Naquel Henderson, 26, of Northeast, has been charged with Robbery while Armed, Carrying a Pistol without a License, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.
