Arrest Made in Officer-Involved Shooting in Towson

by Breaking Local News Report

TOWSON, MD – An arrest has been made following an officer-involved shooting that occurred during a traffic stop on June 30, 2024, just before midnight in the 3300 block of McShane Way.

Officers from the Baltimore County Police Department’s Dundalk Precinct conducted the stop, and upon discovering a firearm between the driver’s legs, ordered him to place his hands on his head. The driver, identified as Xzavier J. Logan, Jr., 25, failed to comply, instead putting the car into gear and dragging an officer before crashing in an alleyway.

During the incident, an officer discharged their firearm, though the suspect was not struck. Logan fled on foot but was later tased and taken into custody. Two handguns, including one with a high-capacity magazine, an auto sear switch, a large amount of narcotics, and over $15,000 in cash were recovered from his vehicle.

Both Logan and two officers were transported to area hospitals and have since been released. Logan is now charged with attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple firearms and CDS-related charges. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center. All officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras.
