Police say a group of suspects fired a firework at three victims before following them, pulling a gun and stealing their property.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for multiple suspects after investigators say a firework attack escalated into an armed robbery targeting three people in Chinatown early Saturday morning.
The robbery occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on June 27 in the 700 block of 6th Street, Northwest.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a group of suspects first discharged a firework toward the victims. No one was injured.
As the victims attempted to leave the area, police said the group followed them.
Investigators said one suspect brandished a firearm and demanded property from the victims while other members of the group searched through the belongings of all three victims.
Police said a second suspect stole property from one victim, while a third suspect took property from another victim. The group then fled with additional items belonging to the victims.
The Metropolitan Police Department has released surveillance images of three suspects believed to be involved in the robbery.

Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
