Albany, NY — One lucky lottery player is holding a winning TAKE 5 ticket worth $27,380 after matching all five numbers in Sunday night’s drawing, with the prize-winning ticket sold at a tobacco shop on Western Avenue.

According to the New York Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased at Edleez Tobacco, located at 1475 Western Ave in Albany. The top-prize win came during the Dec. 21 TAKE 5 Evening drawing.

TAKE 5 drawings occur twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., selecting five numbers from a pool of one through 39. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim any prize.

This win follows a streak of top-prize TAKE 5 hits in cities across New York, continuing the game’s popularity with daily players looking for fast cash wins.

The New York Lottery, which remains the most profitable in North America, reported that it contributed $3.6 billion to support public education in New York State during the 2024–2025 fiscal year.
