Ventnor City, NJ – A former code enforcement officer in Ventnor City was indicted for allegedly stealing over $75,000 in payments meant for city permits. Michelle Calderon, 37, of Egg Harbor Township, faces multiple charges related to the alleged embezzlement, announced by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in a news release on Monday, April 29.
Calderon reportedly pocketed the cash given by taxpayers and businesses for permits and manipulated balance sheets to hide the theft.
