A $1 Power Play upgrade turns a big lottery win into a six-figure payday.
ALLENTOWN, PA – A Powerball ticket sold at an Allentown gas station just delivered a $100,000 prize, thanks to a $1 upgrade that doubled the payout from Wednesday night’s drawing. The winning ticket came from a Mobil station in Lehigh County, where a lucky lottery purchase turned into a six-figure windfall.
The Pennsylvania Lottery announced Thursday that Sat Mini Mart (Mobil), located at 1323 North 19th Street in Allentown, sold the winning ticket for the October 28 Powerball drawing. The retailer will receive a separate $500 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball, qualifying for a $50,000 prize before the Power Play feature doubled it to $100,000. The winning white-ball numbers were 11, 13, 16, 47 and 60, and the Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Allentown Mobil Station Lands Six-Figure Powerball Win
The winning ticket was purchased at Sat Mini Mart, a Mobil gas station on North 19th Street in Allentown.
The Power Play option made a major difference in the final payout.
For an additional $1, Powerball players can activate a multiplier that increases qualifying non-jackpot prizes. Wednesday’s multiplier was two, turning the ticket’s standard $50,000 prize into $100,000.
The gas station will also collect a $500 retailer bonus from the Pennsylvania Lottery, separate from the prize awarded to the winning ticket holder.
The lottery did not announce that the prize had been claimed. Players holding winning Powerball tickets purchased at retail locations are advised to sign the backs of their tickets and follow the official claim process.
More Than 45,400 Pennsylvania Powerball Tickets Win Prizes
Wednesday night’s drawing delivered far more than one winning ticket across Pennsylvania.
According to lottery officials, more than 45,400 additional Powerball tickets sold in the state won prizes of various amounts.
That included more than 9,800 tickets purchased with Power Play and more than 5,500 tickets purchased with Double Play.
Although the Allentown ticket captured one of the larger prizes, no player nationwide matched all six numbers to win the jackpot.
That sent the Powerball grand prize climbing again, setting up a massive Saturday night drawing.
Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $760 Million for Halloween
The Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $760 million for Saturday, October 31, with an estimated cash option of $326 million before applicable taxes.
The Halloween night drawing gives players another chance at one of the game’s enormous jackpots.
Powerball tickets are available through authorized Pennsylvania Lottery retailers and approved online lottery services.
Pennsylvania players can purchase tickets online through the state’s official lottery platform or find nearby sellers using the lottery’s retailer directory.
For Wednesday’s $100,000 winning ticket, the claim deadline is October 28, 2027, one year after the drawing. Applicable tax withholding will reduce the amount paid to the winner.
The Allentown gas station’s six-figure ticket is another reminder that Powerball players do not need to hit the jackpot to walk away with a substantial prize.
And in this case, an extra dollar spent on Power Play doubled the payout.
