Philadelphia Market Strikes Gold as Lucky $10 Ticket Delivers $231K Prize
PHILADELPHIA, PA – A $10 lottery ticket sold at a West Philadelphia convenience store turned into a $231,272 windfall Wednesday, delivering a massive payout through the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Suite Winnings Fast Play game. The winning ticket was purchased at Grab N’ Go Market on Lancaster Avenue, where a routine lottery sale produced a six-figure prize.
The Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed that the progressive top-prize ticket was sold October 28 at Grab N’ Go Market, located at 4026 Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia. The neighborhood retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Unlike traditional lottery games, the ticket didn’t require waiting for a drawing or matching numbers later that night. The prize was determined when the Fast Play ticket was issued, making the $231,272 payout an instant-game win.
West Philadelphia Market Sells Six-Figure Lottery Ticket
The winning ticket came from the Suite Winnings game, a $10 Pennsylvania Lottery Fast Play offering with a progressive top prize that starts at $125,000 and increases as tickets are sold.
By Wednesday, that prize had climbed to $231,272 when the winning ticket was purchased at the Lancaster Avenue store.
The win puts Grab N’ Go Market in the spotlight while delivering the business a separate $500 retailer bonus.
Pennsylvania Lottery officials did not provide details about the ticket purchaser or indicate whether the prize had been claimed.
Fast Play games operate differently from Powerball or Mega Millions. Tickets are printed on demand through a lottery terminal or self-service machine, and the results are available immediately without scratching or waiting for scheduled drawings.
The Suite Winnings game is one of several instant-style offerings available through Pennsylvania Lottery retailers.
Lottery Urges Ticket Holder to Protect Six-Figure Prize
The Pennsylvania Lottery advises anyone holding a top-prize-winning Fast Play ticket to sign the back immediately and contact lottery headquarters at 1-800-692-7481.
Players can check their tickets by reviewing the printed game results, scanning them at an authorized retailer or using the Ticket Checker feature in the lottery’s official mobile app.
Fast Play prizes must be claimed within one year of the purchase date. For the winning ticket sold Wednesday, the claim deadline is October 28, 2027.
Lottery prizes exceeding $5,000 are also subject to applicable tax withholding, meaning the amount ultimately received may be less than the advertised $231,272 prize.
The Pennsylvania Lottery’s Fast Play program offers games at various price points, with some featuring progressive jackpots that grow until a winning ticket is sold.
