Man arrested after alleged stalking incident at Jeannette home

Jeannette, PA — A report of a man outside a residence led to an arrest in Westmoreland County after police say the suspect fled the scene and was later stopped nearby.

Officers responded to Guy Street on April 20 after a victim reported a man had been outside her home and left the area. Responding officers located a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop.

Police identified the driver as 53-year-old Barry Craig of Herminie. According to investigators, Craig told officers he had gone to the residence to speak with the victim.

The victim reported that Craig had been repeatedly showing up at her home and workplace. She told police she was inside her bedroom when she heard pounding on a window and saw him outside before he fled when she said she was calling 911.

Authorities also noted there was a separate incident involving Craig under investigation by state police. He was found to have active arrest warrants and a DUI-related suspended driver’s license.

Craig was taken into custody and charged with stalking, harassment, loitering and prowling at nighttime, and driving with a suspended license.

All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
