A Gloucester County dad is facing some serious charges after a tense showdown at Paulsboro High School back in March. The 39-year-old father from Gibbstown was indicted on Sept. 4 after he allegedly stormed into a classroom and demanded a student apologize to his daughter.
The incident quickly escalated, almost turning into a full-blown brawl with another student. Because clearly, nothing says “let’s handle this calmly” like almost throwing hands in a classroom.
It all went down when the father was at the school to sign his daughter out, but instead, he found himself stepping into a classroom, heated, and ready to defend his kid.
According to court documents, the father demanded one boy apologize for some kind of dispute with his daughter. In true viral fashion, the whole scene was caught on video and made its rounds on social media. In the clip, you can see the dad getting dangerously close to a physical altercation with a second student.
Originally, the police charged him with terroristic threats, simple assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. After a grand jury took a look, they decided to formally indict him on two counts of terroristic threats.
His attorney has been radio silent about the whole thing, but the father will have to face the music again on Oct. 7, when he’s set to appear in court for a post-indictment hearing. Stay tuned—because this high school drama just got way more real.
