Police say a 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on I Street in May.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A robbery that began with a demand for a man’s shoes at gunpoint in Southwest DC has led to the arrest of a 14-year-old boy, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 22, at about 9:40 a.m. in the 500 block of I Street Southwest.
Police said the suspect approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s shoes. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the area.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a 14-year-old juvenile male from Southeast Washington on Wednesday, June 24.
The teen has been charged with armed robbery while armed with a gun, police said.
No injuries were reported, and authorities have not released additional information about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
