Montgomery County detectives seek help identifying armed carjacking suspects on New Hampshire Avenue

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in an armed carjacking that occurred early Monday morning at an Exxon gas station on New Hampshire Avenue.

Police said the incident took place at approximately 2:50 a.m. on June 30, when a victim was sitting inside their black Honda Accord at the gas pumps in the 10200 block of New Hampshire Avenue.

A dark-colored SUV pulled into the lot and stopped in front of the victim’s car, blocking it from leaving. Two suspects exited the SUV, and one of them displayed a black handgun while ordering the victim out of the vehicle.

The victim complied, and the suspects got into the Honda Accord and drove off, followed by the SUV.

The first suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male in his early twenties, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 130 to 140 pounds. He wore a black ski mask, black hoodie, black pants, and was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a Black male with a light complexion, also in his early twenties, with a similar height and build. He was also dressed in black and wore a ski mask.

Montgomery County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anonymous tips can be submitted online or by phone.

Montgomery County Police are seeking public assistance after two masked men carjacked a Honda Accord at gunpoint outside a gas station.
