New Jersey man wins $100K Connecticut CASH5 jackpot with ticket bought at Newington 7-Eleven
Union City, NJ – A Union City man hit a $100,000 jackpot in the Connecticut CASH5 drawing after purchasing a winning ticket at a 7-Eleven store in Newington, lottery officials confirmed.
The top-prize ticket for the October 24 drawing was bought at 7-Eleven store #11479A in Newington, Connecticut, and matched all five numbers needed to win the fixed $100,000 prize. The winner, a New Jersey resident, later claimed the prize through the Connecticut Lottery.
Connecticut Lottery officials did not release the name of the individual, in keeping with policy when the winner chooses to remain anonymous. However, it was confirmed that the player resides in Union City and purchased the ticket in-person during a visit to the Newington convenience store.
CASH5 is one of Connecticut’s most popular nightly draw games, offering a flat $100,000 payout to players who match all five numbers. The lottery is open to non-residents, and winners from neighboring states are eligible to collect full prizes when tickets are legally purchased within Connecticut.
The 7-Eleven location where the winning ticket was sold may also receive a retailer bonus.
