Winslow Township, NJ – Two juveniles have been charged with attempted murder and robbery in connection with a June shooting that left a 19-year-old man critically injured, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Winslow Township Police Department.
A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Sicklerville, are charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred at approximately 9:59 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, on Locust Court in Winslow Township.
Victim found after crashing vehicle
Winslow Township police officers responding to reports of gunfire found a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that had crashed into an unoccupied parked car on Locust Court.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Cooper University Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
During the investigation, detectives determined the shooting occurred during a robbery.
Authorities allege the two juveniles shot the victim before stealing his watch and several other personal items.
U.S. Marshals assisted in arrests
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday, July 17, in Winslow Township by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force–Camden Division.
The 15-year-old was taken into custody three days later, on Monday, July 20, in Pine Hill by the same fugitive task force.
Because both defendants are juveniles, their identities have not been released.
