PITTSBURGH – Moments after the New York Jets defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20 at Acrisure Stadium, a fan fell to his death from an escalator while exiting the stadium.
Pittsburgh police and EMS, already stationed at the stadium reported the incident at around 4:45 pm. Upon admission last night, the fan was listed in critical condition at the hospital.
“We are aware of an unfortunate incident that occurred inside Acrisure Stadium today,” the Pittsburgh Steelers said in a statement. “We are working with local authorities and helping their investigation into the matter. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the guest’s family.”
At this time, police did not say how the man fell or what led up to the event.
