Chicago Man Arrested for Murder of 20-Year-Old Male

CHICAGO, IL – Tyrik Carter, a 24-year-old man from Chicago, was arrested on Wednesday, and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old male on September 18, 2022. The incident occurred in the 400 block of N. Waller in the city’s 15th District.

Following an extensive investigation, Chicago police detectives identified Carter as the suspect responsible for the deadly shooting. He was apprehended in the 5900 block of W. Huron, where he was taken into custody without incident. Carter is now facing one felony count of first-degree murder, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Carter is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court at 2600 S. California on Thursday. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is still ongoing, and no additional information has been released at this time. The Chicago Police Department continues to urge anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
