WASHINGTON D.C. – Perry Lee Jennings, 36, from Washington D.C., has been arrested for his involvement in an armed carjacking that occurred on December 4, 2023, on New Hampshire Avenue. Responding to a call at around 7:08 p.m., officers arrived at the 10200 block of New Hampshire Ave., where an adult female had been assaulted and robbed of her 2021 Audi Q5.

The victim, who was attacked after pumping gas, reported a physical altercation with an unknown assailant who tried to take her vehicle. During the struggle, she was thrown to the ground and saw one suspect brandishing a handgun. The second suspect then entered the passenger seat, and both fled in the stolen vehicle.

Detectives identified Jennings as one of the suspects through their investigation. He was arrested on December 5 and is currently held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Jennings faces charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery, and assault, and is detained without bond. Additionally, he has an outstanding warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service on a separate case.

The search continues for the second suspect, described as a Black male, aged 16-25, about 6-feet to 6-feet, 2-inches tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, with a dark complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing. Montgomery County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the second suspect.
