Man robbed at gunpoint at Hanover ATM as suspect flees into the night

Hanover, MD – A routine ATM visit turned into a terrifying ordeal Wednesday night when a man was held at gunpoint and robbed in a Hanover shopping corridor, triggering a swift but unsuccessful police search for the armed suspect.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 7500 block of Ridge Road following a report of an armed robbery. According to the investigation, the victim had just arrived at an ATM when he was approached by an unidentified man who pointed a handgun at him and demanded cash.

The victim complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of money before the suspect fled the area on foot. Responding officers, along with a K9 unit, searched the vicinity but were unable to locate the man.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, wearing a black facemask, a black puffer jacket, and dark pants. No injuries were reported during the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.
