NYPD says the suspect forced his way into a residence before escaping toward the Cross Bronx Expressway
BRONX, N.Y. — NYPD detectives are searching for a burglary suspect accused of breaking into a Bronx apartment in broad daylight and stealing more than $13K worth of jewelry before fleeing on foot.
According to NYPD Crimestoppers, the burglary happened Friday, May 1, at approximately 4:10 p.m. near Noble Avenue and East 174th Street.
Investigators said an unidentified man forcibly damaged the apartment’s front door to gain entry into the residence.
Once inside, police said the suspect stole multiple pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $13,100.
Authorities said the suspect then fled northbound on Noble Avenue toward the Cross Bronx Expressway.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact Crime Stoppers as detectives continue investigating the case.
