Chipotle brings back fan favorite chicken al pastor for limited time this February

HOWELL, NJ – One of Chipotle’s most requested menu items is making a fiery comeback. The fast-casual chain announced that Chicken al Pastor — the smoky, sweet, and spicy fan favorite — will return to restaurants across the U.S., Canada, the UK, France, and Germany beginning February 10.

Chipotle confirmed the move as part of its 2026 menu innovation rollout, which will include up to four limited-time protein offerings this year. The company said Chicken al Pastor’s return marks the first of several major flavor launches planned for 2026. The dish first debuted in 2023, quickly becoming one of Chipotle’s most successful limited-time proteins.

Made fresh daily in small batches, Chicken al Pastor features adobo, morita peppers, and ground achiote balanced with pineapple, fresh lime, and cilantro — a blend that delivers both heat and sweetness. For the first time, fans can also order the new High Protein Cup with Chicken al Pastor.

“Chicken al Pastor built a passionate following, so we had to bring it back,” said Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s interim chief marketing officer. “The unique, bold flavor goes perfectly with fans’ favorite Chipotle orders.”

To celebrate the comeback, Chipotle Rewards members will get exclusive early access on February 9 through the Chipotle app and website, one day before the national launch. From February 14 through February 28, the chain will offer $0 delivery fees on Chicken al Pastor orders placed through its official platforms.

The company said its 2026 innovation strategy is aimed at keeping menus fresh and engaging, noting that new and returning limited-time proteins have historically boosted both traffic and spending among customers. Culinary vice president Nevielle Panthaky hinted that more bold flavors are on the way. “Chicken al Pastor’s comeback is just a preview of what’s in store this year,” he said.
