MORRISTOWN, NJ – After a flailing campaign to attract Republican support for his run for U.S. President, the former New Jersey Governor is asking Democrats to register as Republicans and vote for him in the primary election next year.

In a bizarre move, Chris Christie and his political affiliates are proactively reaching out to New Hampshire’s Democratic voters, urging them to switch allegiances in the upcoming Republican presidential primary.

This maneuver comes as New Hampshire prepares for its significant role as the state hosting the first-in-the-nation primary.

Two groups supporting Christie have already initiated ad campaigns aimed at Democratic voters. These campaigns were especially timely, given the state’s impending October 6 deadline for voters to change their party registration.

According to Politico, the “Tell It Like It Is” super PAC, a known Christie supporter, has sent mailers to registered Democratic voters ahead of this cut-off. These mailers contain a persuasive message, trying to entice Democrats with the promise of ensuring that former President Donald Trump doesn’t get another chance in the Oval Office.

The mailer, showcasing a prominent “This can’t happen again,” with the January 6th U.S. Capitol riots in the background hints at Christie’s vocal opposition to Trump and aims to draw in voters who share that sentiment.

The success of this tactic remains to be seen, but it underscores the desperation setting in at the Christie campaign. The governor has polled between 2 and 3 percent in most national polls since launching his campaign.
