Elderly Man Punched, Choked on M4 Bus in Harlem; NYPD Seeks Suspect

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 79-year-old man was repeatedly punched and briefly choked aboard an MTA bus in Harlem, prompting an NYPD search for the suspect nearly two weeks after the daytime attack.

The assault happened around 3:06 p.m. on April 7 near Broadway and West 135th Street, according to NYPD Crimestoppers.

Police say the victim was riding an M4 bus when an unidentified individual approached him and initiated a verbal dispute.

The situation quickly escalated, with the suspect allegedly punching the man multiple times in the face before placing a hand around his neck.
