Fatal crash in Baltimore County leaves two dead

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A fatal crash occurred in the early morning hours of Monday on Holly Neck Road, resulting in the deaths of two occupants. The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team is investigating the incident that involved a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu.

At approximately 12:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash in the 2200 block of Holly Neck Road. Through their investigation, detectives found that the vehicle was traveling west when it left the roadway and struck at least one tree.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Austin Lautenschlager, and a rear passenger, 19-year-old David Santos III, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives working to determine the full extent of the incident.

The Baltimore County Police Department is continuing to gather information regarding the crash. Updates will be provided as new information is made available.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with vehicle travel in the area.
