Felton, DE — A Pennsylvania man faces felony weapons charges after Delaware State Police say he pulled a handgun during a road rage confrontation on a busy highway in Kent County.
Jeffrey Neifert, 38, of New Ringgold, was arrested Monday morning following a 9-1-1 report of a driver displaying a firearm on South Dupont Highway near Killens Pond Road, according to Delaware State Police.
Trooper locates suspect vehicle
The call came in around 9:40 a.m. on April 20, 2026, with the suspect vehicle described as a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
A trooper patrolling the area soon spotted a truck matching that description and conducted a traffic stop, police said. The driver was identified as Neifert.
During the stop, investigators recovered a switchblade from Neifert and a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.
Alleged road rage confrontation
The preliminary investigation found that Neifert allegedly displayed the handgun during a confrontation with another driver while traveling on South Dupont Highway near Irish Hill Road.
Police did not report any injuries connected to the incident.
