Fighting phil murphy: doug steinhardt says why he's running for governor

SUSSEX CO., NJ – Former New Jersey Republican Party Chairman stepped down from his job earlier this month and announced he’s running for governor against Phil Murphy in 2021.

Steinhardt said today, through his travels around the state, here’s hearing one common theme, everyone is creating an exit plan to get out of New Jersey. Steinhardt says there’s two types of people looking to leave, those who can afford to leave and those who can’t afford to stay.

“Phil Murphy’s radically liberal policies are tearing apart New Jersey families and killing New Jersey jobs,” Steinhardt said about the governor. “I still see opportunity in this great State, I am fighting for a change in leadership to get New Jersey back on track because family is worth fighting for. As a proud conservative who still sees opportunity in this great State, I am fighting for a change in leadership to get New Jersey back on track because family is worth fighting for. ”

Long before Phil Murphy crippled the New Jersey economy in the name of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was already well on his way of doing it without the pandemic.

Murphy even went as far saying, if you don’t like New Jersey’s high taxes, then you probably want to leave the state.

“Murphy is out of touch with New Jersey’s priorities and his radical agenda ignores the economic challenges of youth, the tough, fiscal realities of parenthood, the difficult retirement decisions facing seniors, and the crippling business climate his policies create,” Steinhardt said. “His constant tax hikes and out of control spending have created the worst economic climate in America, and as a result, our kids can’t afford to start their lives here and our parents and grandparents can’t afford to retire here.”

Steinhardt is a conservative and supporter of Trump. In order to get to Murphy next November, he will have to fight off anti-Trump Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Ciattarelli, a former state legislator has said President Trump is not fit to be president and even called the President a “charlatan”.

This week, New Jersey claimed the top spot with the highest unemployment rate nationwide. It already leads the state in highest death rate for COVID-19 and while New Jersey was once known for having perhaps the cheapest gas prices in America, it’s now ranked 10th highest in the state.
